Which Service?

Email Service - Proofreading and Basic Editing

This service includes thorough correction of all mistakes in your grammar (eg tenses, sentence structure, word order, meanings, etc), punctuation, spelling, vocabulary (wrong words), and all typographical errors. Proofreading is at a deep level and individual sentences will be rephrased or rewritten where necessary, so that the English in your work will be perfect. Suggestions and improvements may also be made regarding your choice of words, consistency, organisation, and presentation, etc, to eliminate repetition, ensure suitability for the intended reader, easiness to understand, and adherence to formal (eg academic) requirements and style conventions, and help you express yourself in the most appropriate and best possible way.

All corrections and suggestions made are highlighted in your document for you to see and use as you wish. Corrections are also recorded as Track Changes within .doc (Microsoft Word) files, which you can accept or reject in your word processing program.

How does it work?

Follow three easy steps.  1. Email your document and deadline to students@richardenglishtutor.co.uk for a personal free no-obligation guaranteed quote. 2. You will receive a quote, confirmation that I  can complete the work by your deadline, and instructions on how to pay. 3. After making payment, you will receive confirmation of receipt and of your booking. Your work will then be proofread and returned to you by the agreed time and date or earlier.

How long does proofreading take?

Your proofread document is returned to you within 24 hours, 48 hours, or normally 3-7 days, depending upon which service you choose (Within 24 hours, Within 48 hours, or Standard). In all cases, return of your proofread document is guaranteed by your agreed deadline or earlier.

What about regular documents?

If you wish to make one single payment and have your documents proofread via Email when necessary, without the need for separate quotes and payments, you may purchase in advance a "credit" of any amount.  Upon the return of each proofread document I will tell you how much credit you have remaining. When or before all the credit has been used, you may purchase more for further work to be proofread, or use the ordinary Email Service.

Charges - how much does it cost?

All charges are extremely competitive and reasonable and based only on the time it takes to proofread your document. How much you pay depends upon the length of your document and the standard of your English, ie the amount of correction and editing that is required, and therefore how much time is taken. The standard of English in clients' documents varies greatly. If you have only occasional errors, you will pay only the lowest rate but if your English needs more correction and will therefore take longer to correct per 1000 words, your quote (per 1000 words) may be at a higher rate. If your document is urgent (ie your deadline is within 24 or 48 hours of when you send it) slightly higher rates apply.

Face-to-face Service - Proofreading and Advanced Editing

Meet in person (face-to-face) to have your work proofread and edited in your presence. This is a very comprehensive and in-depth proofreading and editing service. You will gain all the advantages of the Email Service, and also meeting you in person allows any unclear meanings in your work to be clarified and you are helped to accurately and effectively express everything you want to say - even the most subtle of meanings. We can also ensure that the overall clarity, logic, flow, tone, style, balance, structure, construction, organisation, layout, and presentation of your work is consistent and the best it can possibly be. This option is especially recommended if your work requires significant editing and rewriting (eg smoothing transitions between paragraphs). Here we can deal with everything.
